Over 980 cases of energy theft identified by Delgaz Grid

Delgaz Grid has identified 618 cases of electricity theft in the Moldova region and 364 cases of gas theft in 18 counties, totaling over 14 million kWh. The value of the damage exceeds 11.5 million lei. The company warns of the serious risks associated with unauthorized interventions on energy infrastructure, which can lead to explosions, poisoning, or fires. Delgaz Grid emphasizes that energy theft affects not only the distribution operator but also honest consumers.

Company representatives mention that such acts are punishable by law and that complaints are filed for the recovery of damages. The company recommends that citizens do not allow unauthorized interventions on measuring equipment and avoid makeshift solutions to reduce consumption. Since the beginning of the year, over 980 cases of fraudulent consumption have been eliminated, and the contribution of citizens is essential in reporting these practices.
