Over 400 hospitals in Romania will go on warning strike on July 20

The SANITAS Federation announced on Thursday, during a press conference, a scheduled warning strike for Monday, July 20, between 09:00 and 11:00.

SANITAS President, Iulian Pope, mentioned that medical activity will be ensured for emergencies, "chronic patients being the ones who will suffer" due to the reduction of activity.

The protest comes as a reaction to the economic and social policies of the Government, and a general strike is planned for July 28 across the entire healthcare sector.

Union members complain about the reduction of incomes and rights of healthcare employees, including the decrease of bonuses for hazardous working conditions, the limitation of food allowances and vacation vouchers, as well as the inequities in the draft of the new salary law.

SANITAS demands a return to the salary rights provided in the Collective Labor Agreement and the resumption of negotiations regarding salaries.
