The violent storms in Romania have led to more than 1,200 damage claims, most of them affecting homes.

Romania was hit by violent storms last week, resulting in considerable damage. So far, insurers have opened more than 1,200 claims, the majority (around 78%) related to homes. Problems reported include blown-off roofs, damaged walls and flooding. In addition, 10% of cases concern commercial and industrial property and 9% relate to car damage caused by extreme weather conditions.
