Oana Țoiu warns that attacks in the Black Sea are affecting global grain security and supply

Romania’s interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, warned that security risks in the Black Sea region and the attacks in recent times are no longer merely a regional problem, but also affect global supply chains. The statement was made amid persistent tensions in the region and difficulties concerning the transport of grain.

According to the minister, attacks and insecurity in the Black Sea obstruct the movement of goods and put pressure on international grain trade. Oana Țoiu stressed that the effects extend beyond the borders of the coastal states and may influence the markets and supplies of countries thousands of kilometers away.

The Romanian official said that several states, including those in Africa, depend on the region’s ability to restore and maintain the grain trade. In this context, the security of trade routes in the Black Sea is essential both for regional stability and for preventing further disruptions to global supply chains.
