Oana Macoveiciuc, head of construction, transportation and private defense industry at BCR, emphasized the need for smart partnerships that include technology transfer and local production, during the event "National Security Barometer" in Bucharest. She highlighted the merging of national security with the economy, stressing that supply chains have become geopolitical tools.

Macoveiciuc mentioned that Romania needs to develop real industrial capacity in the defense sector, not just to purchase equipment. She also discussed the importance of predictable contracts to make companies financeable and proposed the creation of new production lines and integration into global value chains. Macoveiciuc concluded that BCR is open to supporting the development of this sector through complex financial solutions, thus promoting a robust defense industry in Romania.
