On Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 PM, was the deadline for interested investors to participate in the sale of the former Damen Mangalia shipyard, which is in bankruptcy. According to information obtained by News.ro, the deadline passed without the liquidator CITR receiving any offers.
A possible explanation for the lack of interest is the decision of the majority creditors, controlled by the Damen group, to set the sale price at a market value of 184 million euros, instead of the liquidation value of 84 million euros. Bidders must pay a guarantee of 10% of the starting price, which is 18 million euros. Additionally, at least six auctions are expected to be organized, each with the same conditions. In April, CITR announced the bankruptcy of the company after the reorganization plan was rejected by the creditors' meeting.
