President Nicușor Dan and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, present in Romania on Thursday for an official visit, signed three documents, including one for a strategic partnership and one regarding the joint production of drones in our country.
Thus, the presidents of Romania and Ukraine signed cooperation documents for military production and energy and the strategic partnership between the two countries.
"We signed a declaration of strategic partnership and it is an important moment in the bilateral relationship. We must not hide to say that historically there has been distrust between our countries. This distrust evaporated at the moment the war broke out. The two countries assume mutual trust. They also assume joint responsibility for this part of Europe. The document we signed is very important. In the document and in discussions, we talked about continuing the support that Romania offers. We talked about military cooperation and one of the documents refers to the production of drones in Romania," said Nicușor Dan during a joint press conference.
The President of Romania also stated that the two leaders discussed joint projects in energy – one of the documents targets this strategic partnership, as well as Ukraine's integration into the European Union and the Romanian minority in Ukraine. At the same time, Nicușor Dan mentioned that he invited Zelensky to the meeting that will take place in Bucharest.
After the joint press conference with Nicușor Dan, Zelensky will also be received by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan at the Victoria Palace. Additionally, the leader from Kiev will also visit the European F-16 Training Center at the 86th Air Base in Borcea.
