Nicușor Dan stated that in the appointment of the head of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the president has no role, being merely a spectator of the process carried out by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). He will meet on Monday with judges to discuss issues in the judiciary, recently highlighted by the Recorder documentary. Among the topics of discussion are the detachment and transfer of judges, the perception of judicial independence, the salaries and pensions of judges, as well as their freedom of expression.
The former mayor of the Capital requested documents to highlight the problems in the judicial system and promised a detailed analysis. Additionally, the CSM launched an online questionnaire to consult the opinions of judges before the meeting with the president. Dan emphasized that the biggest problems lie with the Judicial Inspection and the promotion process in the judiciary.
