President Nicușor Dan spoke in an interview for Observator News about the pistol he received as a gift from his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, upon leaving Ankara, where the NATO Summit took place.
Nicușor Dan stated that he has not seen the weapon, but mentioned that he needs to test it at the shooting range. He explained that the SPP informed him that the pistol will be kept by them, requesting his consent to take it. Regarding his experience with firearms, Nicușor Dan mentioned that he has fired in the army, but since then he has not used a real weapon, except for an experience with a shooting simulator.
The pistol received from Erdogan is a 'Gumusay' model, and according to legislation, it will be kept by the Protection and Guard Service, in accordance with an agreement with the Presidential Administration.
