Nicușor Dan, the president of Romania, was greeted with boos by a group of people in front of the National Theatre in Iași, where he was attending a festive ceremony dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the founding of 'Alexandru Ioan Cuza' University and the National University of Arts 'George Enescu'. Upon his arrival, several dozen people gathered in the park and booed him, shouting various slogans such as 'Shame' and 'Traitor'.
Despite the protests, Nicușor Dan greeted the gathered individuals before entering the theatre. The president arrived in Iași directly from Brussels, where he attended a European Council meeting. On his agenda are visits to Antibiotice Iași and meetings with the MAVIS Artificial Heart team, as well as with Mayor Mihai Chirica and the President of the County Council, Costel Alexe, both involved in legal corruption issues.
