Nicușor Dan, after the visit to the Port of Constanța: "In the next month, new deliveries of equipment are scheduled that will contribute to strengthening the country's defense capabilities."

President Nicușor Dan visited on Saturday the 78th day from the Port of Constanța, the place where the explosion of a marine drone occurred. On this occasion, the head of state discussed with the bomb disposal specialists who intervened on site and emphasized the importance of adapting to new technologies and developments in the security environment, which he considers a permanent priority for Romania.

"In the week starting on June 10, at Romania's request, NATO will organize a session dedicated to security in the Black Sea to analyze the strategic context in the region, the new maritime threats, and the challenges posed by the use of drones, both naval and aerial," said President Dan.

Nicușor Dan also visited the SCOMAR headquarters, the system used by the Romanian Border Police, discussing its modernization to address maritime security challenges, including the threats posed by marine drones. The president also assessed the capabilities of the Romanian Naval Forces, mentioning that Romania is in a process of modernizing its armed forces, with equipment deliveries scheduled soon.

"Romania is undergoing a comprehensive modernization and equipping process of its armed forces, including the naval component. Even in the next month, new equipment deliveries are scheduled that will contribute to strengthening the country's defense capabilities," Nicușor Dan further stated.

He emphasized that securing the area affected by the explosion was the priority of the operation carried out by the intervention teams.
