PSD MEP Victor Negrescu sent an official request to Kaja Kallas after a Russian drone fell on the territory of Romania.

PSD MEP Victor Negrescu announced on Saturday that he has sent an official request to the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, following the incident in which a Russian drone violated Romanian airspace and crashed on the territory of the country. Negrescu emphasizes that this incident is part of a dangerous pattern near the borders of the European Union and NATO, highlighting the risks faced by Romania.

He calls for strengthening European monitoring and rapid response mechanisms, coordination among member states to protect civilian infrastructure, evaluating deterrence measures, and integrating these risks into future EU security instruments. Negrescu states that Romania, located at the border of the Union, directly feels the effects of the conflict in the neighborhood and that protecting European citizens requires a coordinated and credible response.
