Nicușor Dan convened at the Cotroceni Palace representatives of the justice system and the governing coalition to discuss the Law on the Retirement of Magistrates, but the negotiations did not lead to an agreement. The magistrates rejected the proposal to have pensions lower than salaries, requesting an extension of the transition period for retirement to 17 years, while the coalition offered an increase from 10 to 15 years. Additionally, the magistrates demanded that the pension be calculated at 65% of the gross salary, a request rejected by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) emphasized that the proposed solutions must be balanced and in accordance with the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court. There was also discussion about an Agreement for Justice and Institutional Stability, supported by all representatives of the judicial system, which could ensure stability and respect for justice in Romania.
