The President presented a new approach in the anti-corruption fight that involves the intelligence services. However, the SRI is not wanted in the justice process.

The President emphasized the importance of an integrated approach in combating corruption, which includes collaboration among all involved institutions and the use of intelligence services for data collection, without intervening in criminal investigations or the justice process. He mentioned that the National Defense Strategy will be publicly debated, with a scheduled CSAT meeting on November 24, followed by a presentation in Parliament on November 26.

The implementation plan will detail the responsibilities of the institutions, but it will not be public. Nicușor Dan assured that the intelligence services will not become a political tool, and the criminal investigation activity will remain the responsibility of the prosecutors and judges, with legal guarantees to prevent interference.
