Dragoș Pîslaru, the interim Minister of Labor, stated that no one can care for hundreds of vulnerable elderly individuals in person, even if the intentions are good. In 2016, he requested that the responsible person be helped to comply with the law, but they refused. The situation remained ambiguous, and vulnerable individuals continued to be housed without an adequate legal framework.
Pîslaru emphasized that the Ministry of Labor has signaled the need for licensing care activities, but the person in question refused to cooperate. Currently, the Ministry of Labor has begun transferring vulnerable individuals to authorized centers, ensuring they receive medical supervision and permanent assistance. Pîslaru mentioned that it is important to close the legislative gaps that allowed these situations and reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to protecting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
