PNL Senator Mihai Coteț contradicted Alina Gorghiu's claims regarding the existence of a mandate from the mayors of Argeș to support Adrian Veștea, stating that there was no political vote, but only "a question asked on WhatsApp." This statement comes in the context of tensions within PNL regarding the nomination of Veștea, with Coteț aligning himself with Ilie Bolojan and criticizing the way the situation in the party has been managed, which he says did not involve real consultation.

Moreover, Coteț positioned himself alongside Ilie Bolojan on his Facebook page.

"The nomination of Adrian Veștea, made over the heads of the PNL leadership and without real consultation, creates a dangerous precedent. We can no longer allow the party to be confiscated. We can no longer allow the National Liberal Party to be a puppet of interest groups," the PNL senator's post indicates, emphasizing that Ilie Bolojan "has brought discipline, credibility, and direction to the party."
