Metrorex is asking to increase fares for integrated metropolitan transport, arguing that operating costs have increased significantly since August 2021, the last time fares were adjusted. The proposed changes concern the tickets that allow access to both metro and surface public transport in Bucharest and Ilfov. The authors of the document point out that although metro fares have been adjusted recently, those for integrated metropolitan transport have not been updated for more than two years.
