The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu: The National Arena is underutilized and incurs budgetary losses

The General Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that the National Arena is underutilized and generates significant budget losses, with annual revenues being only a third of the maintenance costs. Last year, maintenance and repairs cost approximately 29,000,000 lei, while revenues were about 9,500,000 lei. Ciucu emphasized that it is his responsibility to find solutions to reduce these expenses and keep the stadium in the best shape for sports and cultural events. In this regard, he will organize a debate at the National Arena, inviting representatives of the FRF, LPF, and event organizers to discuss the best management options. Among the options explored are keeping it under the management of PMB, leasing it to a consortium, or a public-private partnership. The debate will take place at 10:00.
