Mayor Ciucu clarifies: Cars will not be reintroduced in the Old Town

The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, provided clarifications regarding the idea of a parking lot near the Old Town, emphasizing that he was misquoted concerning the reintroduction of cars in the area.

He explained that the purpose of the parking would be to attract foot traffic to the Old Town and to support economic activity during the day, not just at night. Ciucu mentioned that half of the Old Town is currently inactive and proposed limited access to the planned parking, which would involve only 100 meters of one-way traffic, without the possibility of parking.

The mayor reaffirmed that the City Hall will not bring back traffic to the Old Town, regardless of the existence of the parking, emphasizing the importance of a sensible solution for revitalizing the area.
