The National Trade Union Federation "Ambulance" from Romania (FNSAR) is preparing "the largest protest in the history of public ambulance services", in response to the employees' dissatisfaction regarding the new draft of the Law on the remuneration of personnel paid from public funds.

The protest will take place in Bucharest and is motivated by the cutting of bonuses and the decrease in net incomes. The union members contest the significant reduction of bonuses for shifts, weekly rest days, legal holidays, on-call duty, and particularly dangerous conditions. They also emphasize that the new salary coefficients do not ensure the maintenance of current incomes for many employees, without the requested increases.

The final decision regarding the date and logistics of the protest will be established after consultations with the Ministry of Health, and in the event that the FNSAR proposals are not integrated into the law, the schedule of the demonstrations will be announced urgently.
