Marius Calotă, the 33-year-old man associated with Rodica Stănoiu, denied that he was her lover, stating that he had a family relationship with her. In a statement to Antena 3 CNN, he accused the relatives of the former minister of creating a "circus" to destroy his image and obtain the annulment of the will, which would disadvantage them.

Calotă claims that the relatives have not shown interest in Stănoiu in recent years, only defending her now, when it comes to the distribution of assets. He stated that he is willing to cooperate with investigators to prove the nature of their relationship. Rodica Stănoiu was recently buried, and the investigation into her death continues, with prosecutors investigating possible acts of manslaughter and illegal access to a computer system.
