A 30-year-old man from Horezu, Vâlcea County, was arrested after he threw his dog from the fourth floor of the building where he lived, disturbed by its barking. The incident occurred around midnight, and the cries of the injured animal alerted the neighbors, who called 112.
Upon the arrival of the police from the Vâlcea Animal Protection Office, the small dog was already dead. The man has been placed under judicial control for 60 days and is accused of intentionally killing an animal, a crime for which he risks a sentence of up to seven years in prison. Additionally, he will be prohibited from owning pets for five years. The law provides severe penalties for animal cruelty.
