A 43-year-old man from Suceava was detained for 24 hours by the police in Botoșani after being involved in a smuggling incident. During a patrol on DN 29C, the police noticed two cars driving at excessive speed.

After signaling them to stop, one of the cars pulled over, but the second one fled, being pursued by the police. In the commune of Zvoriștea, the pursued car overturned, and the two occupants tried to escape. The police caught the passenger from the car, and inside it, they discovered five boxes containing 2,500 packs of unstamped cigarettes. The man was taken to the IPJ Botoșani detention center, being accused of smuggling.
