Man arrested after asking the policeman who fined him for money

The Prahova Police Inspectorate informed that, following a decision by the Vălenii de Munte Court, a 37-year-old man has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, being investigated for assault and blackmail.

The incident took place on Sunday in the Măneciu commune, where the suspect threatened a police officer who was off duty with acts of violence, in connection with the exercise of his official duties. The man allegedly demanded a sum of money from the police officer, justifying that he needed it to pay a fine received two weeks earlier, also from him.

After hearings, the suspect was detained and subsequently arrested. Authorities continue investigations in this case.
