A man has been sent to trial by the DNA for influence peddling, after being caught in the act receiving 60,000 euros to influence judges.

The man M.M.C. was sent to trial by the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) for influence peddling, being accused of having demanded 180,000 euros from a person, promising that he would influence the judges of the Bucharest Tribunal in favor of a businessman referred to justice by the European Prosecutor's Office. Between August 29 and September 4, 2025, the defendant requested the mentioned amount, and on September 10, he was caught in the act in the Danube Delta, receiving 60,000 euros. The case was sent to the Tulcea Tribunal, where it was proposed to maintain the measure of house arrest.
