A joint operation of the Romanian Police and the Customs Authority led to the discovery of 160 packages containing 4.8 million counterfeit banknotes, with a total value of 960 million euros, in the Port of Constanța Sud. These banknotes, in denominations of 500 and 200 euros, did not have a serial number. The operation is part of the international efforts coordinated by EUROPOL to combat currency counterfeiting, with investigations continuing under the supervision of the case prosecutor.
