The interim Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, announced on Monday that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has intensified actions to combat drug use at festivals and major summer events. The aim of these actions is to detect and eliminate prohibited substances before they reach participants.

Predoiu specified that various suspicious substances have been seized, including drugs hidden in containers resembling nasal spray bottles, thus highlighting the increasingly sophisticated methods of transport and concealment.

The ministry collaborates with specialized police officers, gendarmes, and canine teams to ensure the safety of participants, especially young people. The actions will continue throughout the summer season, constantly adapting to new methods of transport and distribution of prohibited substances.

Predoiu emphasized that combating drug trafficking remains a priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, requiring international cooperation and the allocation of adequate resources.
