Just two days before the opening of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) together with Romfilatelia launched the philatelic issue 'Team Romania at the Olympic Games Milan Cortina 2026'. This collection includes four postage stamps, a perforated sheet, and a First Day envelope, each item reflecting the Olympic spirit and the sports in which Romania will compete. The event was attended by officials from COSR, such as Mihai Covaliu and George Boroi, as well as the artist Alina Marinescu, who created the illustrations. The collection symbolizes the emotion of competition and national identity, being launched at a significant moment, considering that many Romanian athletes are already in Italy to prepare. Mihai Covaliu emphasized the importance of the partnership with Romfilatelia and expressed hope that Romanian athletes will surpass themselves and fight for medals. At the event, participants had the opportunity to send postcards using a special postal box brought for the occasion. The Olympic adventure for the 29 Romanian athletes will officially begin on February 6, coinciding with the opening ceremony.
