The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced the launch of the digital map 'Inspector of Gravel Pits', which allows citizens to check in real time whether gravel extraction operations in their area are authorized. The platform will combine information about 6,216 authorized perimeters and 1,849 active perimeters, providing transparency in the management of natural resources.
Buzoianu emphasized the increase in the number of inspections and fines, highlighting the importance of this tool in combating the criminal phenomenon related to illegal extractions. Citizens are encouraged to file complaints in case of identifying irregularities. In the next three months, an application will be launched that will allow the traceability of the extraction process and will connect the ministry's dispatch for a quick response to complaints. This initiative aims to prevent tragedies caused by illegal extractions and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
