The incident occurred after the underground galleries of the former salt mines closed in 1934 collapsed, causing a 150 square meter collapse. The local mayor reported a loud bang and the authorities preventively evacuated five nearby households. Traffic on the DJ186A has been restricted and the situation is being monitored by firefighters and geological specialists to assess the risks of further collapses.
