Judge Ionela Tudor, vice president of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, has submitted a retirement request to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). Tudor was in the media spotlight after she was caught by microphones during a press conference telling the court's president, Liana Arsenie: "Lia called me. I'm going to talk." The judge then left the conference, and upon her return, she approached the president of the Court of Appeal and whispered what to respond.

The retirement request of Judge Ionela Tudor will be evaluated by the CSM, and if approved, it will be signed by Mayor Nicușor Dan. Ionela Tudor has been involved in controversial decisions, including the suspension of the analysis of former Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă's doctoral thesis, arguing that the scandal could affect political stability. Criticisms against her led to complaints to the Judicial Inspection, which were dismissed.
