An Italian motorcyclist has died after being attacked by a bear on the Transfăgărășan near Arefu, Romania.

The tragic incident occurred on DN7C, 500 meters from the Vidraru dam, where several foreign motorcyclists stopped. One of them was attacked by a bear and dragged off the road. The gendarmes found a phone in the roadside ravine, but the victim was not present. Rescuers later confirmed that the Italian man was found dead.
