The interim Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău (USR), launched a harsh attack on the designated Prime Minister Adrian Veștea, using a controversial expression to criticize his political activity. In an intervention on Digi24, Darău stated that "the monkey has climbed the tree and its bottom is visible," arguing that Veștea's rise to national level has revealed his limits as a political leader. The USR official claimed that Adrian Veștea is not suitable for the position of Prime Minister and accused him of trying to secure parliamentary support, including through negotiations with parties he considers extremist.
