Iosif Șimon Ștefan, a 49-year-old man from Ocna Mureș, was sentenced to 27 years and 8 months in prison for serious sexual abuses against his girlfriend's daughter. These acts took place between 2016 and 2020, when the victim was between 11 and 15 years old. The Aiud Court established that the man raped the minor approximately three times a week and subjected her to sexual acts, including forcing her to watch pornographic material.
The abuses were discovered after a person outside the family alerted the authorities. Iosif was tried for rape, sexual assault, and mistreatment of a minor. The decision of the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal on January 14, 2026, was final, and the man was taken to Aiud Prison.
