In the week of August 25-31, Romania recorded 3,982 new cases of COVID-19, an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous week, and 9 deaths, mostly among people over 60 years old. Children under 9 years old accounted for over 40% of cases, with 1,657 infections. The positivity rate of tests was 14.4%, decreasing compared to the previous week, and the total number of COVID-19 cases in Romania reached 3,597,470.
