The IMF delegation, led by Joong Shik Kang, begins a visit to Romania for the annual review of the economy, taking place between September 3 and 12, 2025. Officials will discuss with Romanian authorities economic policies and recent developments, including with the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank. The IMF has lowered its economic growth forecast for Romania to 1.6%, reflecting significant risks and rising inflation, and at the end of the visit, a press conference will be held.
