IKEA Romania has launched a program for recycling old furniture in Bucharest, in partnership with the Sector 1 City Hall. The campaign, which runs from February 1 to April 30, 2026, allows residents to donate used furniture, thus contributing to waste reduction. The program is open to everyone, but it primarily targets residents of Sector 1, accepting up to five items per person, including chairs, tables, and sofas.

IKEA Family members receive a voucher of 25 lei for each item handed over, with a maximum of five vouchers. Collection will take place in the parking lot of the IKEA Băneasa store, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The Mayor of Sector 1, George Tuță, emphasized the importance of this project in managing bulky waste and supporting vulnerable communities.
