IKEA is preparing a new round of layoffs, affecting approximately 800 employees globally, mainly from the office area. Ingka Group, the company that manages most IKEA stores, justified this measure by the need to maintain competitive prices and to increase efficiency in the face of a constantly changing retail environment. CEO Juvencio Maeztu stated that the organization has become too complex, and simplifying the structure will allow for faster decision-making closer to the stores and customers. The layoffs specifically target employees in administrative positions in countries such as Sweden and the Netherlands. However, Ingka Group continues to expand, currently having over 640 units in 32 countries, including Romania, where it operates three stores.
