The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued yellow and orange flood warnings on Friday, valid until June 13, in several counties in the south and east of the country. Hydrologists warn that, in the context of the forecasted precipitation, significant runoff may occur on slopes, torrents, and streams, as well as rapid floods on small rivers, with possible effects of local flooding and exceedances of protection levels. Authorities recommend that the population in the affected areas avoid traveling near watercourses and take measures to protect their property, given that the phenomena may have a dangerous character and rapid evolution.
