Horațiu Potra was escorted from the central detention facility, where he has been since his return from Dubai, and is awaiting a court decision. There is a possibility that the case will be transferred to Sibiu for reasons of territorial jurisdiction. Potra faces multiple charges, including actions against the constitutional order, violations of the arms regime, and tax evasion, and most of his assets have been confiscated. He is requesting the return of the confiscated assets, arguing that their value exceeds the damage estimated by the prosecutors and contests the precautionary measures as excessive. Potra, known for his activities in paramilitary structures, was detained on September 24 at Dubai airport, and on November 20 he was brought to Romania along with his son and grandson. They are being investigated for conspiracy against the constitutional order, along with other individuals. Potra is also being investigated for tax evasion and money laundering, with several assets under seizure.
