The Minister of Economy and Tourism, Radu Miruță, points out that holiday vouchers have artificially increased prices in tourism, which is not beneficial. He sees two camps in tourism: one that invests and seeks competitiveness and another that depends on government aid. Miruță calls on companies to demonstrate the effectiveness of participating in international fairs, stressing that lack of transparency in the use of funds is not acceptable. He also believes the drop in tourist numbers is due to lower incomes, not just holiday vouchers.
