During the event "Strategic Regional Cooperation in Southeast Europe," organized by CCIB and the Embassy of Greece, Deputy Minister Konstantinos Gkioulekas emphasized the importance of Romanian tourists and announced new rules for protecting Greece's cultural heritage. These measures are intended to reduce mass tourism, considering that last year Greece received nearly 38 million visitors.

"Indeed, there are certain rules, primarily for Greeks, but also for all friends who come to Greece. These rules are made to help us preserve our cultural heritage, to protect the small children who come to Greece, but also those in Greece. You can come to Greece and even if you respect these rules, you will have a great time / I will describe an image that has imprinted in our minds and in our souls. We see how much respect and love our Romanian friends show when they come to the churches in Greece. They show a special respect for our places of worship," said Minister Konstantinos Gkioulekas during the event.

The Greek government, led by Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, proposes a more sustainable tourism model, with strict regulations in popular regions such as Rhodes, Kos, Santorini, and Mykonos. Among the new regulations are the limitation of the number of beds in hotels and the prohibition of wearing high-heeled shoes in archaeological areas. Authorities aim to reach 55 million tourists by 2040, with tourism revenues estimated at 36 billion euros.
