Iliescu died due to complications from lung cancer, having been hospitalized at the 'Prof. Dr. Agrippa Agrippa Ionescu' Clinical Emergency Hospital in Bucharest for almost two months. The meeting of the State Funeral Organizing Committee was also concluded.
