The Government meeting convened for this evening aims to approve a decision declaring August 7 a day of national mourning in honor of former President Ion Iliescu, who died at the age of 95. Iliescu died due to complications from lung cancer, having been hospitalized at the 'Prof. Dr. Agrippa Agrippa Ionescu' Clinical Emergency Hospital in Bucharest for almost two months. The meeting of the State Funeral Organizing Committee was also concluded.
