Previously, the National Anticorruption Directorate conducted searches at three locations in Romania, including the headquarters of Global Defense Logistics SRL and the homes of certain individuals, as part of an international investigation into alleged fraud against NATO. The operation was coordinated with authorities from the United Kingdom, Norway, and Germany, with EUROJUST support, and the investigation concerns the contracting of NATO naval military services through NSPA.
As part of the same investigation, Norwegian authorities detained five people and conducted searches at homes and company premises, while in Germany checks were carried out pursuant to a European Investigation Order. Global Defense Logistics SRL is managed and co-owned by Gabriel Daraban, while MORAN TEVFIK LUTFI (with the largest shareholding) was also listed among its shareholders, according to the investigation data.
