In a press conference, George Simion, the leader of AUR, signaled an unequal treatment from the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), accusing that Nicușor Dan recovered all campaign expenses, while his party was fined, which led to the total non-reimbursement of funds. Simion suggested that the authorities would organize an attack on media institutions that present the truth, referring specifically to Realitatea. He also mentioned a criminal case opened against Sile Pușcaș, who lent the party money, accusing that it is orchestrated by a prosecutor known for pressuring judges. Simion announced AUR's intention to notify the European Commission and OSCE to denounce state abuses for political purposes, stating that there is a systematic intimidation of those who do not support the state. He emphasized that the fight is not just for AUR, but for democracy in Romania, advocating for the protection of independent voices in the public space. Prosecutors have seized Pușcaș's businesses as part of an investigation for serious crimes.
