The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, signed on Tuesday the decree by which Brigadier General Mariana Radu Jinga is directly retired from the Ministry of National Defense, starting from June 30, 2026.
The name of Mariana Jinga is associated with a DNA investigation from October 2025, which targets the former commander of the Central Military Hospital in Bucharest, Major General Florentina Ioniță-Radu. In this case, several military personnel are being prosecuted for irregularities related to the payment of salary rights of employees involved in a project funded by European funds.
Mariana Jinga, who was a colonel at the time of the offenses, is accused of complicity in abuse of office, having the role of deputy commander of the "Dr. Carol Davila" Central Military Emergency University Hospital.
