The visit was to include the 'Getica' National Training Center in Cincu and the Southeast Multinational Corps Command (HQ MNC-SE) in Sibiu. General Grynkewich prioritized a trip to Romania at the beginning of 2026. This visit would have underscored Romania's and NATO's commitment to strengthening regional security and enhancing the deterrence posture on the southeastern flank of the Alliance. Alexus G. Grynkewich, who also holds the position of Commander of the United States European Command (USEUCOM), is responsible for the strategic leadership of NATO operations in Europe.
