The Chief of the Defense Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, had a meeting on Thursday with his Hungarian counterpart, General Zsolt Sandor, to discuss regional security and military cooperation between Romania and Hungary.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, the discussions addressed topics such as the contribution of both states to NATO's deterrence and defense measures on the Eastern Flank, joint training, multinational exercises, and military mobility.
The two generals analyzed the possibilities for developing collaboration between military structures and the experience gained through the activities of the Romanian-Hungarian Mixed Battalion for Peacekeeping.
General Vlad emphasized the importance of dialogue and coordination in the current security context, stating that the military cooperation relationship must be strengthened through joint projects and activities.
