The protest by AUR leader George Simion is scheduled for May 26, coinciding with the inauguration of Nicușor Dan as president. The Gendarmerie stressed that it has not received official notifications for this protest and the demonstration is not authorized. On the same day, a public gathering organized by the Association of Victims of the Mineriad will take place, making it impossible to hold two protests simultaneously in the same place. Simion called for peaceful protests, but expressed his fear of attending for security reasons.
