The Galați City Hall has started the works for a modern palliative care unit at the 'Buna Vestire' Hospital, with a value of 19 million lei.

The Municipality of Galați has announced the start of works for the establishment of a modern palliative care unit at the 'Buna Vestire' Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a project estimated at 19.2 million lei. The project includes the demolition of the existing C14 building and the construction of a new building with a height regime of D+P+2E, the consolidation of the C13 building wall, energy efficiency works, and the installation of alternative energy systems.

The new unit will have 27 beds and will be equipped with medical equipment adapted for patients with chronic or terminal illnesses. Services will be provided through a contract with the Health Insurance House.

The works are carried out by the association COOP Galați, AM Arhidream, and Arhiconcret, with an execution period of 24 months. The project is funded through the Health Program 2021 - 2027, aiming to improve the infrastructure for palliative services.
